Car parts are the pieces of hardware that make a car run. When you think of car parts think of items that must work well in order for you to pass inspection. These include electrical parts, engines, carburetors, etc.

Car parts often wear out over time. When you purchase a new car it comes with a warranty that covers most car parts for at least five years. To increase sales some upstart companies now include warranties that cover parts for 10 years or 100,000 miles.

Dealers want to sell you car parts because it helps them stay in business. If you bought a new car from the dealer, the salesman was your first point of contact for the car and he may try to convince you to only purchase parts at their store. However, if you shop around for parts you may save money.
